There's something so compelling to me about making our constraints work for us. I hope I'm not misquoting here, but I think Kimberly King Parsons has said something about how her writing time actually became more productive once she had kids. Because there was less time to spare, she knew she had to stay super focused and committed during those bursts. I clung to this idea, as I am terrified that I'll just stop writing after I have kids! And it does make sense to me, as I'm currently in a season of my career where I actually have a lot of time to write but somehow can still find myself just giving it 45 minutes. Time is necessary, but it's useless without focus, commitment, and discipline.
